How can RQP Law help with your current financial situation?
Chapter 7 Bankruptcy
Filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in Pennsylvania allows you to discharge all eligible debts in exchange for selling any unprotected property in order to pay your creditors.
When filing for bankruptcy protection, certain state and federal exemptions can help make sure you don’t lose your personal assets. In Pennsylvania, your home, car, retirement accounts, and personal belongings are protected when filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
Chapter 13 Bankruptcy
Chapter 13 is considered a type of “reorganization” bankruptcy because it involves creating a debt repayment plan that reorganizes cash flow and provides relief from creditors.
Chapter 13 can be used to get rid of unsecured debt such as credit card balances, medical bills, and personal loans. It can also be used to discharge some types of income taxes or even to eliminate debts related to a foreclosure or repossession.
Some types of debt are only dischargeable through Chapter 13 and not through Chapter 7.
Bankruptcy Alternatives
While filing for bankruptcy is often an appropriate solution when looking for debt forgiveness, it’s not always the best solution. There are bankruptcy alternatives that we can help you pursue in the event they may be more beneficial to your financial health.
